The Apprentice Climber at Greentek Inc. plays a crucial role in line clearance tree trimming, ensuring the safe management of vegetation near power lines and utility infrastructure. This position demands expertise in tree care, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to excel in challenging environments under the guidance of a crew foreperson.

Requirements

• Experience:
  
  • Prior climbing experience required.
• Education and Knowledge:
  
  • Willingness to learn proper pruning techniques and tree trimming practices.
  • Interest in gaining knowledge of native and introduced tree species and their characteristics.
  • Commitment to understanding and following safety protocols and equipment usage.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  • Ability to climb, work on ladders, and stand on raised platforms under supervision.
  • Capable of lifting up to 20 pounds for extended periods.
  • Capable of pushing or pulling up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

  • Eagerness to learn and take direction from experienced climbers and forepersons.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
