As the Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) Senior DevOps Specialist, based in North America, you will:

• Work with highly experienced Munich Re cloud architects and implementation managers – who have a wealth of experience both at Munich Re and from their wider technology roles.
• Have a passion for enabling our Development, Test and Operations teams via tooling and automation.
• Build DevOps solutions across application, network, deployment & scaling to meet complex project requirements.
• Be comfortable working in a high paced, high energy agile working environment.
• Take ownership to implement and enforce all relevant security, documentation and config processes in everything you do.
• Work as part of a highly experienced and diverse engineering team – who bridge the US, UK, Europe & India.
• Be pivotal in building out Munich Re business units cloud native platform and be directly involved in strategic design decisions.

Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practitioner experience with excellent infrastructure architecture skills.
• Azure certification, ideally from one or more of the DevOps, Security and Architecture learning paths.
• Deep technical knowledge and proven hands-on implementation experience (4+ years) on Azure cloud platform.
• Be well versed and comfortable building pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Very good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code development using Bicep, Terraform, ARM and PowerShell.
• Configuration Management: Knowledge of tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Azure Monitor and Application Insights: Skills in setting up monitoring and logging for applications and infrastructure.
• Log Analytics: Ability to create and manage queries and dashboards for real-time insights.
• Hands on experience in cloud networking, including principle understanding of full IP stack, subnetting & routing.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Expertise in setting up and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure Pipelines.
• Working knowledge of application development and concepts such as session management, load balancing, error reporting and alerting, thread management. Experience working as a developer would be considered a differentiator.
• Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra) & Identity Management deployment and configuration experience.
• Experience with wider Microsoft technologies such as window server and SQL server.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and high attention to detail when producing design artefacts.
• Exposure and experience of the following Azure technologies (the more the better) - App Services, Functions, Redis Cache, Network Service Groups, Azure Firewall, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Application Gateway, Load balancers.
